About
Cultura Fest
Cultura Fest aims to rewrite the narrative often told about our community. While media tends to focus on struggles, Cultura Fest highlights that we are much more—we are artists, entrepreneurs, and leaders shaping the future. It’s essential that our youth see our history not just as survival, but as a powerful story of strength, creativity, innovation, and success.
More than an event, Cultura Fest is a homecoming. Founded by Ricardo Archila from a personal desire to reconnect with his roots and identity, the festival provides a platform for cultural exploration and creative expression. Growing up in the U.S. during the ’80s and ’90s, many Salvadorans blended into Mexican and Central American communities. While this fusion enriched us, the longing for a space that fully represents our Salvadoran heritage never faded.
Cultura Fest fulfills that need by uniting the community through music, art, and food. It showcases Salvadoran and Latino American artists, musicians, comedians, and chefs who proudly display their talents. Rooted in resilience, the festival also honors the broader Latino American journey—how we uplift, influence, and build together.
Beyond celebration, Cultura Fest strengthens community bonds by highlighting local small businesses and authentic food experiences, connecting visitors to the heart of South San Francisco. The festival also partners with nonprofits focused on children’s mental health, the arts, and family resources—ensuring celebration and community support go hand in hand.
Cultura Fest 2025 is made possible through sponsorships and donations. The event is free to attend, and every contribution helps create more programs that support art and culture in our community.
